Just curious

I don’t have the answers, but:

How does requiring that a gun owner show proficiency and require they register the firearm disarm a gun owner?

How many firearms are actually stolen each year? I’ve heard 500,000: Is this an actual figure?

Why wouldn’t responsible firearms owners report their stolen firearms within a 48 hour period?

Does the firearms industry factor in sales to otherwise disqualified individuals in its sales figures?

The last question is the most important since gun control means trying to prevent people who are disqualified (e.g., criminals and the insane) from acquiring firearms. That doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.
