Requiem for Detroit

This is something I downloaded a while back on iPlayer. I can’t say I enjoyed watching this documentary, but it is interesting. Social commentary from John Sinclair, Mitch Ryder, Martha Reeves, among others.

It confirmed my suspicion that Detroit was the city that committed suicide by being a one industry town, but there were other factors as well. Although, one could still argue that the root cause was the auto industry and its putting profit before people.

The BBC’s website for this is here.
Julien Temple has an article in the Guardian about the film here.
